SETTING
city centre
This sensual black and white entrance hall is a welcoming transition between the lively city, outside, and one’s comforting home, above. A place to disconnect. Something like a stage scenery. A passage from outside to inside, or vice versa. A meeting place or a private place to receive mail, reconnect and enjoy. The white leather stripes (6,000 metres long) weaving around the metal structure that home the letter boxes refer to the canal with its boat language of ropes, fluid and curves, and symbolises the abstract link between people communicating. The high-personality stone floor is a pattern directly inspired by the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid. This lobby is the setting for art. Monumental charcoal drawing by Belgian artist Rinus Van de Velde is an escape skyview of Brussels from the tower’s skydeck.
