Located in the heart of the municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, this project designed by A2RC ARCHITECTS consists of completely stripping the interior and exterior of an existing office building and transforming it into a completely renovated building with 50 high quality apartments. This building, with its light-coloured fine brick cladding, modern architecture and staircase design, offers remarkable quality of use to the 50 apartments, particularly because of its orientation. Thanks to shifts at the last levels, which allows the positioning of penthouses enjoying an exceptional view, the volume is thus reduced and elegantly integrated into the existing building. The project then revolves around an interior garden that offers a quiet space in the heart of the city. Loggias and terraces are shaped in the street facades as well as in the interior of the block and give them a sustained rhythm and allow to animate the whole volume. The rhythm thus created is supported by the large bays, reminiscent of the original structure of the building. All the apartments thus designed are irremediably turned towards the outside and the light. This renovation project offers, through the design choices, optimal energy performance and comfort. The use of noble and durable materials, right down to the heart of the apartments, gives the spaces created a remarkable character.
