​Place de Jamblinne de Meux, the geometric summit of an impeccably designed neighbourhood, occupies an exceptional location in the urban fabric of the city of Brussels. Its alteration gives it the function of a public space both on the scale of the city and that of the neighbourhood. The square, where the work started on 1st March 1993, was inaugurated on 15 April 1994. The layout of this new square can be summarised in four points: 1) The elimination of the existing diagonal road, with the square itself being reunited, keeping all the tall trees and positioning of the roads around the perimeter of the square. A new straight layout creates a succession of five rectangles measuring 30 metres x 30 metres positioned on the two orthogonal axes of the square itself, rigorously in its centre. 2) The creation of an enclosed garden of 30 metres x 90 metres which is arranged around three rectangles standing on dolomite paths, two of grass, and one of wood, and bounded on the north side by a portico and flower beds. Located at the geometric centre of the square, it is surrounded by fences both to preserve the tranquillity of its users and to clearly delineate the new overall layout. 3) To the east of the square, where rows of trees prolong the roads built during the urban development of the 19th-century, and around the large lime tree, the establishment of a symmetrical composition performed by four rows of apple trees and four hornbeams surrounded by hedges. 4) The installation, on the rue du Noyer side, of the work of Spanish sculptor Miquel Navarro Boca de Luna. This fountain composed of two parts and located in the centre of a paved area combines a circular basin, located in the longitudinal axis of the square, fed by a painted steel stele 13 metres tall, evoking the poetry of the moon, and a square basin, made of bluestone, slightly raised, in the centre of which is a cast brass piece 2.5 metres tall, symbolising the imagined world of the city. The two basins are connected by a narrow channel of water.
