Royal Theatre La Monnaie / De Munt / Brussels / 1986

During the works in 1985, an opportunity arose for A2RC to work with artists, thanks to theatre Managing Director Gérard Mortier and Art Curator Jan Hoet, as a gift to the public.This experience would provide inspiration throughout many of A2RC’s future projects. The artists chosen by the two ‘natives of Ghent’ are Sam Francis (USA) for the entrance hall ceiling, Sol Lewitt (USA) for the stone floor, Gunther Förg (Germany) for the new Kufferath foyer. The salon royal (a private VIP lounge) was redesigned by Charles Vandenhove with Giulio Paolini (Italy) and Daniel Buren (France).
