Paul Day

"The Berlaymont building site and The Brussels ring-road"

Brussels Regional Parliament / Brussels / 1997

Paul Day creates hauts-reliefs in terracotta where the search for perspective, often plurifocal, curvilinear with multiple planes, predominates. He has represented here, on the one hand, the project to renovate the Berlaymont building, headquarters of the European Commission, contrasting with a street of singlefamily houses, and on the other hand, the Brussels ring-road clogged with cars and pedestrians.
